NIM Celebrates 40 Years!
07/10/09

As part of its 40th Anniversary Celebration, NIM is happy to give supporters the opportunity to win 10 FREE MEALS at the Trolley Car Diner!  That’s a $120 value, and tickets are only $10 each.  Proceeds will support NIM’s community programs.  The drawing will be held 7 PM, August 7th at the Sedgwick Cultural Center, 7137 Germantown Avenue.  Four winning tickets will be drawn - attendance is not required to win.

Here are just a few of the programs you will support by buying a raffle:

*      NIM runs the largest training program for licensed child care providers in Philadelphia, and we work to get more licensed so that they have the tools to make their preschoolers Kindergarten-ready. (NIM has an Early Childhood Learning Center from which you can borrow learning kits for your own kids and grandkids.)

*      NIM teaches parenting to all who wish to learn, with a special emphasis on women in community-based incarceration facilities who need a great deal of support.

*      NIM sponsors a congregation- and community-based teen basketball league.

*      NIM offers Youth Leadership training to teens, culminating in an Outward Bound experience.

*      NIM providers long-term care ombudsmen to assure the rights of residents in half of the City’s nursing, assisted living, and personal care homes. Call NIM if a loved one in a local facility is not getting proper care (215-843-0304).

*      We make referrals and resources available to older adults living independently. Call Resources for Older Adult Living – ROAL – at 215-843-5602, or access our interactive directory at www.roalatnim.org.

 *      NIM’s annual Martin Luther King Interfaith Celebration draws hundreds of people from NW communities.
