an Advocacy Night to End Violence Against Women in Darfur  
  PHILADELPHIA – February 2, 2009 – On Wednesday, February 11, 2009, at 7 p.m.,  Weavers Way Co-op and Germantown Jewish Centre Social Action Committee will present “One Night, One Voice,” an advocacy night to end violence against women in Darfur. This event will feature the nationwide premiere of the short film “Violence Against Women and the Darfur Genocide.” A post-film discussion will be led by Fatima Haroun, vice president of the Darfur Alert Coalition and a leader in speaking out on behalf of the people of Darfur. In her Darfur advocacy, she has been a featured speaker at demonstrations at the White House, the U.S. Holocaust Museum and the national Save Darfur rally in New York City. describe the current state of affairs in Darfur. A discussion will follow.  The public is invited to attend this free event and learn more about what they can do to make a difference. The event will be held at Germantown Jewish Centre, 400 W. Ellet Street, Philadelphia, PA 19119. Founded in 1973 by a group of neighbors in Mt. Airy, Weavers Way Co-op now has more than 3,200 members and 60 employees and revenues approaching $8 million at two locations.
